Preparation of a welded plaster grid before installation

Leveling walls is an important stage of construction in interior decoration. To make the plastering strong and reliable, use a plaster grid.

Types of plaster grids

Experts advise to stop the choice on a thin, flexible metal for even fixation on the surface without bends. Picking up with these parameters - will prevent the formation of cracks, shedding of plaster and detachment of the plaster layer from the wall, which occur due to significant temperature changes, humidity, shocks. Especially relevant for use with irregularities greater than 5 cm.

The most common species include:

  • welded - galvanized mesh metal resistant to humid environments, designed to attach to the facade, walls, ceiling;
  • armopoyas - building material for laying a brick foundation, concrete reinforcement;
  • magnier or double-twist mesh - mesh fabric with a specific method of wire weaving, which is designed to strengthen the facade slabs, plaster curved and angular surfaces;
  • chain-link - a wicker material that can withstand a large layer of plaster during processing.

However, most often use welded, which can be seen in the photo.

Recommendations for the use of mesh for plaster

Plastering technology does not do without some rules:

  • pre-wash the walls from dirt and dust and cover with a primer;
  • fixing is better to carry out fastenings-self-tapping screws, after all dowels will leave apertures on a surface;
  • work should be carried out in a room with already installed windows and doors for protection against precipitation;
  • when carrying out works in the winter it is necessary to involve in addition heating devices;
  • air temperature at front finishing should be within 8-35 degrees, but without hit of direct sunlight;
  • tighten carefully, without creating waves, to prevent the formation of voids, which will negatively affect the final result of the repair.

Fastening of a grid

The fastening process is performed by unwinding the roll along the wall in the horizontal direction, starting from the ceiling, continuing until it is completely covered.

Types of fastening:

  • by pressing the first layer of plaster on the uncured coating to full immersion with a spatula. The method is best used in small areas;
  • installation through each 0,5 - 0,6 m in a checkerboard pattern on all wall and in places of overlapping on nails by means of self-tapping screws with the tightened washers by a method of hanging of a grid.

If it is necessary to increase the strength of the building surface and at the same time simplify the construction process, preventing deformation of the walls - buy a plaster mesh. Installation is not difficult and can be done on their own, because it is even easier than installing a fence.
