Changes in the labour market: Women are a priority and are mastering male professions
Machine tool operator, mechanic, forklift driver, and this is not the whole list of professions that Ukrainian women are currently pursuing.
Due to the war, there is a growing shortage of male hands in the labour market. At our company, Sitka Zakhid, which manufactures metal mesh and fences in Bukovyna, we currently employ more than 30 women from different regions.
How did they learn the profession and what are their working days like? The Inter TV channel came to film a report about our women who break stereotypes for the “News Telethon” to see with their own eyes how women are confidently mastering a profession that is traditionally considered a man's job. The report became a real inspiration for viewers across the country.
Our women work on an equal footing with men, demonstrating outstanding skills. Their example proves that gender is not an obstacle when there is professionalism, love for work and a supportive team.
