"A motorcycle is something that has already become a part of the soul" - Dmitry Gerasimich Interview with the head of the warehouse of raw materials and production support of the company "Sitka Zahid" - Dmitry Gerasimich, who represented our company on August 24-26 in a motorcycle ride within the framework of the festival "Shlyakh Molfara" and, together with the team, won 1st place.
How do your family members feel about this hobby? After all, motorcycling is quite dangerous.
- A motorcycle is considered a vehicle of increased danger, it is really a traumatic sport, but, in principle, you can walk down the street, fall and break your leg. By the way, this is why the patrol police in our country are prohibited from chasing motorcyclists.
At first, my family tried to dissuade me, but when they saw my emotions when buying a motorcycle, unpacking, starting up and riding for the first time, they realized that they had made the right choice and resigned themselves to my hobby, completely sharing it. By the way, I bought my first motorcycle with their help.
If your son came in the future and said: “Dad, I want to ride a motorcycle,” what would prevail in you: worries about the child, or the joy that he imitates you?
- If my son came and said that he wanted to ride a motorcycle, I would have shared his desire, but after 30 years. I believe that a person (especially boys) is formed up to 30. Only after this age they begin to understand what is possible and what is not, they become more careful. As the people say - "up to 30 years in the head of the wind", and a motorcycle is a very dangerous transport, you need to think carefully about "what exactly" you are doing, "where" and "how". Personally, I started to get involved in this sport at about 24 years old, then it grew into an idea and a big dream, and I bought my personal motorcycle at 33.
Do you have a lot of like-minded people in your hobby? Are there any motorcycle communities in Chernivtsi?
- Most of my comrades and those with whom I constantly communicate are also fond of motorcycling and have their own transport.
Concerning groups, there is such a thing as motorbike: if you pay attention, then on the road where 2 completely unfamiliar motorcycles will ride, crossing, they always wave their hands to each other, thus saying “Hello, motorbike!”. If a motorcyclist stops on the road (something happened to the transport, or the owner became ill), then the other driver will never pass by, but will stop and ask how to help. By the way, I felt it myself.
In Chernivtsi, there are different groups and communities, for example - West Riders, Bukovyna raccoons, as well as communities in social networks and messengers, where people discuss various topics related to motorcycles: from spare parts to those with which the girls rode yesterday.
You recently took part in a motorcycle ride, tell us more about this.
- It all started with the fact that one of my acquaintances offered to register for the competition "Shlyakh Molfara", I agreed. But I acted not only as an ordinary rider, but as a representative of the company in which I work - Sitka Zakhid. Before that, I had never participated in races and could only roughly imagine what awaited me. I set myself up that the class in which I will perform will simply be traveling on ordinary rural paths using a GPS navigator, but it turned out that this is a serious competition that required a certain amount of physical training and off-road driving skills. Therefore, for me, as a person who takes part in such an event for the first time, it was very difficult and even scary. Also, the fact that the company had high hopes for me made me feel a double responsibility and obligation to colleagues who supported me and hurt me. I couldn't let them down. At a certain moment I was afraid that the technique would not stand it and I would not be able to reach the finish line, but nevertheless we covered the distance with a very good result - our team won 1st place in the competition. We were pleasantly shocked and very happy, we could not believe it. We had a very strong team and I gained invaluable experience. After these competitions I do not want to stop and now I am looking for a more powerful and durable transport. I will train and continue to develop in this direction.
